Last Note from 2014 (last poem written in 2014)!

Last Note

Last café on the road

A smoky room

And an alone player

Belting out a tone

With a last breath

Dying

The Sun doesn’t shine

in these parts

But it burns

on the screen

The last car derives in

the screen of the last car

that drove in

a cowboy boots man

and a legless blond

step into the shadows

of the smoky room

the lonely player is still playing

an old jazz tone

with a fly for

accompaniment

a fly as lonely as he is

buzzes in the empty corner

for eternity

they ask for cold drinks

the cowboy and the blond

she had beautiful eyes

big blue like the sea

he had sunglasses

dark behind them

were blindness

they drank in

the silence of the music

a shot rang

another followed

a pool of blood

met another pool of blood

senseless waste of life

lives

the usual last note

plays

in

Road Ends Café!
