Observing

Observing youth in my local chain coffeehouse

I sip my tea calmly trying to prevent myself

From chasing the fast cooling down tea

Running from lip burning hot to throat hurting cold

In seconds or so it feels

Is this how old age feels,

Plenty of time and little to do?

But

But

I am not retired yet!

There are twenty, thirty years and few more to live

How am I going to manage emptiness

This emptiness I suffer silently

Alone

In my local chain coffeehouse!
